Artist Sophie Hacker has finished the work of etching, painting and layering up the layers of glass that make up the beautiful window she has created for our very own Brydges Chapel at St James Church here in Ludgershall. These pictures show our Churchwarden, Julie Walker, visiting Sophie in Holywell to see this wonderful progress. The window is being viewed from above against a light box to give a feeling of what it will look like against the sunlight when installed. Julie tells us that it is even more beautiful and astonishing when seen in person. The next step is for the glass to be leaded, to bring the three panels together ready for installation!
So far, of the £22,000 total we will need to pay for this exciting stained glass installation, we have raised a brilliant £11,937. We would like to involve as many people in our local community and beyond in this project as we can, and so if you would like to contribute, it doesn’t matter how small or big a donation you make, you will have helped bring this project to completion. The window will be something that is there for generations to see and visit and enjoy.
