Palm Sunday

This Sunday is Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week, leading us through the last week of Lent to a joyful Easter. This Sunday we will meet at the Market Cross, outside The Queens Head at 10am, to make a Palm Sunday procession to the church building, waving our palms and singing. Give us a smile and a wave if you see us, or come and join in this special service. If you are unable to join the procession, wait for us in church – we will arrive in style to worship with you!

Sunday 20th March

This Sunday at 10am, we will be having a special service to mark the 2nd anniversary of the start of the pandemic. There will be an opportunity to light a candle, and we will give thanks for God’s faithfulness to us, and offer God all our prayers and mixed feelings about this troubled time.
Childrens Church will also be running, and we look forward to welcoming everyone. The radio service will also air at 10am, courtesy of our friends at Castledown FM.

Ash Wednesday Service at 7:30pm

Lent is approaching, and Ash Wednesday offers us the opportunity to prepare ourselves and mark the beginning of Lent with a special Ash Wednesday evening service on Wednesday 2nd March at 7:30pm at St James. The service includes traditional ashing and Holy Communion and will be led by Rev’d Tim and Rev’d Wenda. All are welcome to join this special midweek time of prayer and preparation.

Christmas Services 2021

Our lovely delivery team have been out and about getting our card with details of our Christmas Services to the homes in our parish, so we hope you have received yours, and can join us for worship and carols in church during the festive period.
If you do plan to come along, please note that in line with the latest Government requirements, we will need to use masks in the church building. Thank you.

Remembrance Sunday 2021

This year’s Remembrance Sunday service on Sunday 14th November, will start at 10am at St James, directly followed by the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial, at about 10:45. The church service will be relayed via speakers to the vicinity of the War Memorial, for those gathered there. There is also a separate radio service at 10am for any marking the day from home, led by Rev’d Tim, and broadcast by our friends Castledown FM.
