Use of our Church Building Update

Friends, last night our PCC met to discuss the latest Government and Church of England Covid 19 guidance and make a decision about what to do next with regard our in person services. After prayerful contributions from all representatives, the PCC decided that for the duration of August, our in person services will remain outdoors in the churchyard, but from the beginning of September, our in person services will be indoors, returning to our church building. Our first indoor church service will be on Sunday 5th September, and will be a Service of the Word. We so look forward to welcoming you through these doors in September!

Please continue to pray for dry weather for our August services. Please also pray for our Rector, church wardens and PCC members, on whom the responsibility to make these difficult decisions throughout the pandemic has weighed, and continues to weigh, heavily. Thank you.

Sunday 25th July – a celebration of St James’ Day

A reminder that this Sunday we are having our special celebration of St James’ Day with a service at 10am in the churchyard led by Bishop Andrew, Bishop of Ramsbury and Rev’d Tim. The service will also include the joyful thanksgiving for, and blessing of, our amazing new stained glass window. It’s going to be a very special day, so our sister church, Holy Trinity, will be worshipping with us and no in person service will happen at Holy Trinity, because we will all be together at St James!

We will be outdoors, so come prepared, folding chairs and picnic blankets welcome! After the service there will be a hog roast lunch, and an open mic, so if you wish to bring along a song, please do. We look forward to fellowship together.

For those who wish to tune in to the radio service, our friends at Castledown FM will be broadcasting our Songs of Praise service, also at 10am.

Sunday 18th July, 7th Sunday after Trinity

Our services will be at 10am, in person in the churchyard and and on the radio with our friends at Castledown FM on 104.7FM.
If you are coming to the churchyard, don’t forget your folding chair or picnic blanket! Children’s Church continues throughout the summer – we will gather as a whole congregation before going off to our separate worship activities. Looking forward to seeing you!

St James’ Day Sunday 25th July 2021

On Sunday 25th July, our morning service at 10am will be led by Bishop Andrew, Bishop of Ramsbury and our own Rev’d Tim, and will not only celebrate St James’ Day but will also include the blessing of ‘The Revealing Glory and Renewing Hope’ stained glass window. After the service there will be refreshments and a time of fellowship together, to enjoy food and good company, all set in our beautiful churchyard. We hope you can join us in celebrating St James’ Day in this special way.

We will also have an open mic during the refreshments, when members of our wider community will share a song or two, singing or playing a musical instrument. If you have a song you would like to share as part of our festivities, please do bring it along. We have a mic and a speaker capable of taking a pickup, if you wish to use them. 😊🎶
