Help us care for our churchyard!

🧤🧤🧤Our first churchyard working party of the season is on Friday 18th March at 10.00 am!
2 hours limit for all volunteers. Please wear gardening gloves and bring along wheel barrows and any sacks you can spare because we will be doing a strim and tidy, and be clearing away loose or unfixed vases, containers, and withered or faded grave decorations so our churchyard is looking great as the spring flowers continue to emerge.🙂🧤🧤🧤

Our new benches

Three beautiful new benches now adorn our churchyard, donated by members of our community in memory of dearly missed family members. Last week, Nigel, Terry, John and Mike undertook the final task of adding the anchors to secure them in place. Thank you to the families who donated them and our volunteers for doing this work. The benches continue our efforts to make our churchyard hospitable as a place to sit and enjoy some peace or some company, a place for prayer and enjoyment of this space. ☀️

Sunday 25th July – a celebration of St James’ Day

A reminder that this Sunday we are having our special celebration of St James’ Day with a service at 10am in the churchyard led by Bishop Andrew, Bishop of Ramsbury and Rev’d Tim. The service will also include the joyful thanksgiving for, and blessing of, our amazing new stained glass window. It’s going to be a very special day, so our sister church, Holy Trinity, will be worshipping with us and no in person service will happen at Holy Trinity, because we will all be together at St James!

We will be outdoors, so come prepared, folding chairs and picnic blankets welcome! After the service there will be a hog roast lunch, and an open mic, so if you wish to bring along a song, please do. We look forward to fellowship together.

For those who wish to tune in to the radio service, our friends at Castledown FM will be broadcasting our Songs of Praise service, also at 10am.
