Stations of The Cross in the Churchyard

The Stations of the Cross help us to meditate on what it means to walk in Christ’s footsteps by tracing the events of Good Friday, the day of Jesus’ crucifixion and death. We have set up twelve stations in St. James’ churchyard for people to use for personal prayer and meditation during Holy Week on your once daily outdoor exercise. The symbol on each station which looks like a ‘P’ and an ‘X’ is an ancient symbol for Christ, called the Chi Rho. Please observe the required 2 metre distance from others while using the stations, and if you see more than five people in the churchyard on your arrival, please come back to pray at another time. The PDF below includes short prayers and Bible verses to use at each station. We hope you all have a very blessed Holy Week.

Palm Sunday Service 5th April

Palm Sunday Morning Service at 10am. We will be live on our Facebook page and broadcast on Castledown FM 104.7, coming together to worship from the comfort of home while we cannot gather physically in our church. All welcome! You can text in with thoughts and prayers on Sunday morning on 01980 22 1047, and because our Gospel reading this week is the story of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, our theme for reflection is about our expectations of God. What does God do with our hopes? Do we ever feel surprised by God? Do we ever feel disappointed by God? Do text in with your thoughts. Service sheets will be available on our website http://www.stjamesludgershall.com/service-sheets/

After our service, coffee time via zoom is available at the link below. You need to click the link, you will be prompted to download zoom, and then if you click the link again you should arrive with us! Don’t forget to bring your coffee with you! All welcome.

Lent Group – “Casablanca”

our Lent Group for 2015 is running on Fridays thought Lent in the Church Hall 7.30-9.00pm. It’s using the film “Casablanca” and a course book called “A Beautiful Friendship”.

You don’t need a copy of the book, and it’s not vital to have seen the film, although it will help. Do come along and join us, for as few or many Fridays as you can. image
