Our bible storytelling and activity session ‘What’s The Story?’ for 0-5year olds plus parents/carers and older siblings will run every Thursday in August 9:30-11am, meeting in the church. Come and join us as we charge around the place, enjoying stories together and sharing a lot of fun. No need to book, just come along. Sessions include a snack and are free of charge. Hope you can come!
You are warmly invited to come along and join us in whiling away a summer afternoon on Saturday 28th July, 12 noon till 4:30ish with a bbq, ice cream or perhaps a glass of Pimms. We will be in the Rectory Garden, so bring a picnic blanket or garden chairs and bag a good spot for listening to live music from the Decibelles & Whistles, or a spot of Donkey Derby antics, or even a garden game or two. We hope you can come!
Next weekend is our Flower Festival! Open throughout the day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, please drop in to see lots of wonderful floral creations! We will also have an evening of music and poems including a performance from The Blue Horizon Handbell Ringers with wine and nibbles on Friday at 7pm, and a Songs Of Praise service at 6pm on Sunday, not to mention Revd Jimmy Holden will preside at his first communion surrounded by flowers at our usual 10am Sunday morning service. Come along to celebrate the Harvest! Our Harvest Thanksgiving Service is on Sunday 25th September at 10am. We will be welcoming donations of dried, tinned or fresh food at our service to distribute to those in need. Alternatively you can drop off donations by the church door, or in the porch of the Rectory. We will be having fun dressing the church for our celebrations on Saturday 24th September at 9:30am, if you would like to come and join in making the church beautiful using the produce of the harvest! Looking forward to seeing you this Harvest.
‘The Great Debate’ in St Andrew’s Church, Boscombe SP4 0AB

Commemorating Richard Hooker, the influential 16th Century Anglican priest and theologian, who was Rector in Boscombe for a time.
This year the event looks forward to the forthcoming celebrations of the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta in 2015, and we are delighted to have Bishop Graham Kings, His Honour Judge Keith Cutler and former Salisbury MP Robert Key coming to debate issues of justice from the perspectives of faith, law and politics. Questions from the floor will be welcomed, and refreshments served. The Great War Commemorative Exhibition [UPDATE!]
An exhibition to commemorate 100 years since the outbreak of the First World War, will be held in the Memorial Hall Ludgershall, Saturday 8th November, 10 AM–4 PM, and on Sunday 9th November 11:30 AM–2 PM. Entrance will be free of charge. The event will serve as a launch for new book commemorating the 32 War Heroes commemorated on Ludgershall’s War Memorial.
A highlight on the Saturday all be a performance of popular war songs by Malcolm and Sandra Grundy, accompanied by Tom Turner on the organ, at 11AM & 2PM.
Also, there will be exhibits, a stall of books and materials from the period – including a newly written book containing the names and details of service of the Fallen as recorded on the War Memorial – together with a short history of the war and how it affected the growth of Wiltshire, from being an agricultural county that of a vast Army Training Ground.
At 10:30 AM on Saturday 8th November a specially designed and sown collage will be unveiled by the grandson of one of the men recorded on the War Memorial, and the Revd. Claire Maxim will dedicate it.
Refreshments will be available and a Raffle will be held.
Do come along and support the Royal British Legion, to whom all the proceeds will be donated.
